Joseph T. Dixon Jr.’s distinguished legal career has focused extensively on the successful resolution of business disputes involving individuals and businesses.  He currently provides ADR services including mediation and arbitration and represents both plaintiffs and defendants in resolving these same types of claims.  His substantive areas of focus include a wide panorama of specialties within the business and commercial litigation arena.

Representative Experience

  • Represented foreign holders of an international bond indenture with respect to trust and related proceedings in Minnesota state and federal courts, bringing both matters to a successful resolution
  • Represented a franchise holder in a dispute with its former franchisor, successfully defeating the franchisor’s effort to obtain temporary injunctive relief, thereby assisting client in its efforts to resolve the disputes
  • Served as co-liaison counsel in a national antitrust case venued in Minnesota federal court.
  • Named as mediator, arbitrator and special master in state and federal courts in a wide variety of commercial and business disputes
  • Retained as counsel to special committee of board of directors for a public company, successfully resolving a large, sensitive employment claim
  • Lead attorney in numerous other significant legal disputes, on both plaintiff and defense sides, involving employment, contract, securities, real estate, antitrust and other commercial matters
