Best Lawyers Family Law Lawyer of the Year

compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The current, 15th edition of The Best Lawyers in America (2009), is based on more than 2.5 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers.

The lawyers being honored as “Lawyers of the Year” have received particularly high survey ratings by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism, and integrity.

Eidsness has been practicing law for 35 years and focuses on the areas of family law, commercial transactions and estate planning. His experience includes family law trial work, specifically cases involving business valuations and significant assets and/or incomes. Eidsness represents clients both large and small, from prestigious companies involved in commercial matters to individuals in need of estate and tax planning assistance.

Eidsness has earned impressive professional and academic honors during his career including selections in all editions of Minnesota Super Lawyer®, and as one of America’s Best Lawyers for 15 years. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and is a Martindale-Hubbell AV Peer Review Rated attorney.

As an Adjunct Professor of Law, Eidsness has taught at both the University of Minnesota Law School and William Mitchell College of Law. He has also been called upon as an expert witness to testify in legal malpractice cases in Minnesota state courts and has been retained to provide expert testimony in other cases which were resolved without trial.

With all of his professional obligations, Eidsness has managed to find time to dedicate to his community as an active moderator and past member of the Boards of Trustees for his church. Additionally, Eidsness is a member of the Board of Directors of The Jade Foundation, an organization created to benefit Minnesota children with physical, cognitive and/or emotional disabilities, and children affected by drug or alcohol abuse, violence and/or poverty.
