FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

November 20, 2003, Minneapolis, MN – Henson & Efron, P.A., partner Alan Eidsness has been inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Trial Lawyers, which is composed of the best of the trial bar from the U.S. and Canada. With membership into the College open to only one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or province, Eidsness’ induction is a significant recognition among all practicing attorneys. He is one of 55 Fellows in the State of Minnesota and the only one to devote a large part of his practice to family law. Fellows are chosen by invitation only, which are extended to experienced trial attorneys who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality.

Eidsness, who practices family law as well as small business and commercial litigation, has had a distinguished 30-year trial career with no plans of slowing down. He is consistently selected by his peers as a Minnesota Law & Politics Super Lawyer® and in 2003 and 2002 was selected as the top family law attorney. He has also been selected to The Best Lawyers in Minnesota and The Best Lawyers in America.

In addition to being recognized in his practice area, Eidsness has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota and at William Mitchell College of Law. He regularly presents continuing legal education seminars on family law topics including valuation of businesses, income taxes and marital dissolution, estate planning, and determination of division of retirement programs in marital dissolutions. He is a member of the Family Law and Litigation Sections of the American Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association, and the Hennepin County Bar Association and is admitted to practice law in Minnesota, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School.

The American College of Trial Lawyers was founded in 1950 and strives to improve and elevate the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and the ethics of the trial profession. Qualified lawyers are called to Fellowship in the College from all branches of trial practice. They are carefully selected from among those who customarily represent plaintiffs or defendants in civil cases and those who prosecute or defend persons accused of crimes. The College is thus able to speak with a balanced voice on important issues affecting the legal profession and the administration of justice.
